For most of its life any wind turbine is producing less than its maximum rated capacity. The Futurenergy OPP Device ensures that all power
produced by the turbine is available for use without the need for installing additional inverter capacity which is not required for most of the
time. The typical use of a Futurenergy OPP device is when a 6Kw inverter is installed with a 10Kw turbine. When the turbine produces more than
6kw the Futurenergy OPP device diverts excess power over 6kw to a useful dump load—usually space or water heating.
Using this device it is possible to program the inverter (s) to any maximum output if required by the electricity company—so, if the maximum
which can be put back into the grid is 3.65Kw the inverter can be set to this and the additional power when produced is available for use.
The advantage of the Futurenergy OPP device is that it allows a larger turbine to be fitted than the maximum which can be sold back to the grid - so a larger turbine can be fitted which provides more power whenever operating.
