Some invertors have a start voltage of over 200 volts which in our experience is far too high for a wind turbine. If the start voltage is too high this means that no power is produced in low wind speeds. It also means that the invertor is connected to the grid for less time and because of the 3 minuit connection delay (by regulation) before power can be input to the grid this means that the total power production is often considerably less because the system is not able to convert sudden strong gusts of wind to power (waiting for the 3 minute connection time)
The other consequence of the slow reaction time of the invertor is that this makes the safe operation of the turbine much more dependant on the control mechanism. Whilst the control mechanism of our turbine is designed for all eventualities our experience is that many contol systems do not give this level of safety and protection
